'Nanba Grand Kagetsu', found in the 'Minami' area in Osaka City, is a theater focused on Japanese Comedy.

This theater dates back to 'Osaka Kagetsu' opened in 1939, and was rebuilt at the present place, in the vicinity of the original one, in 1987. 'Yoshimoto Kogyo', an Osaka-based leading theatrical agency in Japan, has many theaters across the country, most of them are in Osaka and Tokyo. Among them, this is regarded as a flagship theater. It initially was equipped with all non-reserved seats, however they wholly are reserved seats now. So it may be difficult to book, particularly on weekends. This has repeatedly undergone repair works since its completion, and the latest anti-earthquake work has just finished in December 2017. The theater building in the picture consists of Nanba Grand Kagetsu and some leased commercial spaces. 'Yoshimoto Manzai Theater' (Manzai means a comicdialogue) and 'NMB 48 Theater' (NMB 48 means a Japanese girls' idol group in Osaka) stand on opposite side, which forms this neighborhood into the local center of Japanese Comedy.
